Popis

In seinen geistlichen Konzerten war Johann Philipp Krieger (1649–1725) wegweisend für die großen, in sich geschlossenen Sologesangsformen des 18. Jahrhunderts. Die ausgeprägte, individuelle Interpretation der Psalmentexte macht diese Werke auch für zeitgenössische HörerInnen äußerst reizvoll. Die 1697 im Druck erschienene Sammlung Musikalischer Seelenfriede liegt jetzt in modernen Einzelausgaben vor, die von dem ausgewiesenen Krieger-Spezialisten Klaus Jürgen Gundlach herausgegeben werden.

17 der 20 geistlichen Konzerte sind mit einer hohen oder tiefen Solostimme, zwei Violinen und Basso continuo besetzt. Ausnahmen davon bilden Nr. 8, 12 und 13. Nicht nur wegen der kammermusikalischen Besetzung, sondern auch wegen ihrer musikalischen Vielfalt und Lebendigkeit bildet der Musikalische Seelenfriede eine hervorragende Ergänzung des Repertoires in Gottesdienst und Konzert.

Die Aufführungsdauer beträgt jeweils ca. 10 Minuten.
